    Hauled Wastewater Program

    Located at 1301 Sycamore Rd, DeKalb, IL. only

    Dumping of RV waste, septage, porta potty waste, restaurant grease or any other hauled liquid waste is only allowed at the Kishwaukee Water Reclamation District wastewater treatment plant located at 1301 Sycamore Rd in DeKalb. Hauled wastewater may never be discharged to sanitary or storm sewer manholes or catch basins.

    RV Dumping Free to Residents

    Residents of the District may dump the toilets of their personal, non-commercially used, recreational vehicles at no charge at the District’s wastewater treatment plan between the hours of 7 AM and 3 PM on weekdays. If you have never dumped your recreational vehicle here before, please stop at the administration office for directions on how and where to do this.

    Hauled Waste Dumping

    Before being allowed to discharge septage, porta potty waste, restaurant grease (FOG) or any other waste water to the Kishwaukee Water Reclamation District your application must be approved by the District before any dumping is allowed.

    KWRD Wastewater Hauling Application

    The following documentation, at a minimum, will be necessary to have your waste hauler application reviewed for acceptance:

    1. State of Illinois Department of Public Health Private Sewage Disposal System Pumping Contractor License – Does not apply to Porta Pottys.
    2. DeKalb County Septic Pumper’s license – Only required for DeKalb County septage.
    3. Certificate of Insurance for Company’s Comprehensive Automobile and General Liability insurance policies.
    4. Vehicle registration and liquid capacity of each vehicle that will be used to deliver hauled waste.
    5. Illinois Driver’s License –for each driver who will be using truck(s).
    6. MSDS sheets – Porta Potty chemical(s)

    Dumping Procedure

    The District’s hauled waste receiving hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm, excluding holidays. Afterhours/weekend receiving can be accommodated for an additional fee. The largest truck tank size allowed to discharge shall not exceed 3,000 gallons unless otherwise approved. Prior scheduling of septage or porta potty waste receiving is not required but the District must be notified at least 30 minutes ahead of time for FOG receiving. Each hauler must provide a manifest documenting when and where the wastewater was received and leave a sample for testing.

    Fees

    The District bills waste haulers on a monthly basis at the following rates:

    Septage/Porta Potty $0.035 / gallon
    FOG $0.05 / gallon
